At 8:19 AM today, LPD received a 911 call from a resident on Valley St. The resident stated that a neighbor, Donald Pearson, of 6 Valley St, was at the end of his driveway shooting what appeared to be a handgun. At this time, we do not know if any houses or other structures were hit (officers are still processing the scene/area). He was last seen walking westerly on Valley St until the caller lost sight of him.
LPD immediately dispatched units to the scene. Since there was no visual on the subject, all efforts went into containment. While setting up a perimeter and waiting for SWAT, LPD received a call from Manchester PD stating that they received a 911 call from a subject that had picked Pearson up and dropped him off at the airport. At this time, LPD has not been able to reach the subject that took Pearson to the airport.
LPD immediately contacted Londonderry officers at the Manchester/Boston Regional Airport. Pearson was taken into custody after he attempted to take a car that was parked curbside. He was arrested without incident. He is being processed at this time at LPD headquarters.
Update April 10th 1:30pm
Mr. Pearson age 54 of 6 Valley Street in Londonderry is being arraigned at 1:30pm in Derry District Court for Reckless Conduct with firearm, Attempted theft of a motor vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Drug.
